Types of earrings
Share
When choosing earrings, we first of all pay attention to their appearance, without thinking about fasteners. But they are responsible for the comfort and reliability of fixing the decoration.
Knowing the features of each fastener, you can plan in advance which earrings can be worn for going out, and which ones will be suitable for every day.
DARI jewelry has prepared a list of the most common types of earrings to make it easier for you to decide.
CARNATION EARRINGS
The most versatile: simple and concise.
Pins can be with a clip fastener or screws (twisting).
We consider clamps to be a more reliable type of fastening, despite the popular opinion that screws are more reliable.
- The thread on the screws wears out over time and the fastener begins to irreversibly fly off and is very difficult to repair, while the clamp, if it has loosened, can be simply tightened and it is in order again.
- The thread is cut to a certain place on the pin, so if your earlobe is thinner than the "standard", then you will not be able to screw the screw tightly to the earlobe and the earring will sag, and the clasp, not having a "support" in the form of your ear, will start to unwind and get lost. The clamp can be pushed as tightly as possible, as much as you feel comfortable.
- A thicker pin (1.2-1.3 mm in diameter) is used for carving, which can be a problem for those who are used to wearing earrings with thin pins. The thickness of the clove can be made under the clamp from 0.8 mm.
The term "Pusety" is often used. It is precisely unknown whether there is a difference in the names, but there is an opinion that "pusety" refers to earrings that do not hang below the earlobe.
That is, in the photo on the right there are carnations, but not pusets.
ENGLISH CASTLE
The pin passes through the lobe and is attached with a clip with a characteristic click. When fastening such an earring, after clicking, you should not press on the jewelry, trying to create the illusion of reliability - this is the only way to break it.
CHAIN EARRINGS
In fact, it is an ornament without a lock: a thin chain is passed through the lobe and hangs behind the ear. Thanks to the correct design, the jewelry will be comfortable and will not get lost.
Small silicone plugs can be added to the jewelry set to securely fix the earrings.
HOOKED EARRINGS
A simple elongated loop without any fixation is one of the oldest types of fasteners. For such earrings, you can separately purchase plugs (small silicone ones are more convenient) for additional fixation of the jewelry on the ear.
EARRINGS JACKETS
A jacket is a modification of stud earrings, where the clasp is the main decorative element: pendants, semicircles or any other modification of earrings are attached to it, which protrudes beyond the lower edge of the earlobe and creates a second row of jewelry.
Unfortunately (or fortunately), there is no universal advice for choosing fasteners. Everyone chooses what is closer and more convenient for him :) We remind you that we can make almost all our models with different types of fasteners: with an English lock, with a hook, etc.
